Superintendent's Message: A Season of Celebration and Connection

As spring blooms across DeSoto Parish, our schools are alive with the energy, excitement, and promise this season brings. From state testing to baseball games, softball tournaments, track meets, band concerts, and student showcases, it’s a time of year when our students are fully engaged—not just academically, but artistically, athletically, and socially.

It’s also a perfect reminder of what makes DeSoto different. Our mission is to make a difference in the lives of students—and that difference is never more visible than in these moments of joy, challenge, and accomplishment. Whether it’s a student stepping up to the plate, taking the stage, or giving their all on a test, we are witnessing growth, grit, and grace in action.

I want to encourage every member of our community to make time this season to show up for our students. Go to that game. Attend that performance. Cheer them on. Your presence speaks volumes—it tells our students they matter, that we see them, and that we are better together.

As we move into the final stretch of the school year, let’s stay focused on what matters most: high-quality instruction, strong relationships, and a deep sense of community. These are the hallmarks of High Performance, a Positive and Caring Culture, and the Small-Town Traditions that define DeSoto Parish Schools.

Spring Break is next week, and I hope you’ll find time for rest, renewal, and reflection. I am incredibly grateful for all that you do—for our students, for one another, and for the continued success of our schools.

For Students’ Sake,

Clay J. Corley
Superintendent
