Artishalyn Ford began her career in education as a paraprofessional in DeSoto Parish at Pelican All Saints High School. She later served at the Career Academy and North DeSoto Lower Elementary, where her passion for teaching and supporting students deepened. It was during this time that she realized her calling to lead a classroom of her own. Determined to achieve that goal, Ford began pursuing her degree at Louisiana State University–Shreveport in 2005. After years of persistence and dedication, she proudly earned her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education (PreK–3) in the spring of 2025. While at LSUS, she was an active member of the Aspiring Educators program, engaging in community outreach and professional development. Her commitment to education and service was further recognized when she was named to the Louisiana Board of Regents 5th Future Honor Roll 2025 class. Ford is deeply grateful to Mansfield Elementary and DeSoto Parish administration and staff for supporting her journey. She remains devoted to serving her community by creating a love of learning in the lives she encounters and by helping them reach their fullest potential. Above all, she gives thanks to God for guiding her path and allowing her to fulfill her calling.
