Principal's Message

Last week, MMS proudly recognized students who earned placement on the Honor Roll, achieved outstanding success in Accelerated Reader (AR), and were selected for our Portrait of a Graduate honors. These accomplishments reflect dedication, perseverance, and a commitment to excellence, and we are incredibly proud of each student recognized.
As we celebrate these achievements, we also look ahead. Our focus this month is on the 13 Habits of High Health, with special emphasis on Delivering Results. Families can support this habit at home by encouraging students to:

Set clear goals and track their progress
Manage time effectively and complete tasks with purpose
Reflect on effort and outcomes, not just grades
Celebrate small successes that lead to long-term growth

These habits help students build responsibility, confidence, and resilience—skills that will serve them well in school and beyond.

We are now 12 weeks away from state testing, making this a critical time for study with strong support from both school and home, our students are well-positioned to finish the year strong.  Please remember - Attendance is key as well as having a charged Chromebook daily.  As a reminder of the importance of daily effort and positive habits, we leave you with this quote:
“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” — Aristotle
With pride and appreciation,
Learn, Lead, and Serve On!

Miles for Smiles Brings Convenient, Quality Dental Care to Our School

We are excited to announce that our school is partnering with Miles for Smiles, a mobile, school-based dental health care provider that brings quality dental services directly to students during the school day.  This program allows students to receive dental care at school without missing valuable class time or requiring parents to take time off work. Services are provided by licensed dental professionals in a safe, child-friendly mobile clinic.

Services may include:
Dental exams and cleanings
X-rays (when appropriate)
Fluoride treatments
Sealants
Oral health education

Miles for Smiles works with many insurance plans, including Medicaid/CHIP, and offers options for uninsured families. Their team handles insurance billing, making the process easy for parents.

Good oral health supports student comfort, confidence, and learning. By addressing dental needs early and conveniently, this program helps reduce absences and keeps students focused in the classroom.
Parents will receive consent forms and information before any services are provided. Participation is optional.  Please scan the QR code for forms.
We look forward to welcoming Miles for Smiles and offering this convenient service to support our students’ health and academic success.
