We appreciate all of our families who work hard each morning to get their Little Griffins to school safely and on time. As the first campus to open among the four ND schools (7:05 am), we understand that many parents are managing multiple drop-offs and tight schedules.
We do want to share an observation that may help your mornings run more smoothly. Between 7:10–7:25, our carline is consistently very light, with little to no wait time. During this window, our staff is fully outside, ready to greet students and assist with unloading. Arriving during this time greatly reduces delays and ensures your child starts their day calm, on time, and confident.
Lately, we’ve noticed a large number of cars arriving closer to 7:30, which is just minutes before the first bell rings. When this happens, the carline becomes congested, and students may end up entering the building late. To help everyone have a positive and efficient start to the day, please plan to enter the carline between 7:05-7:20 whenever possible.
For your child's safety, do not drop them off once duty teachers go inside. After that time, please park and walk your child in through the cafeteria to check them in. Students are considered tardy after 7:40 a.m. We want to be sure that every student is safe and supervised.
Thank you for your cooperation, your kindness toward our staff, and your partnership in helping every student begin the day successfully. We appreciate you!

These students were nominated by their teacher or other staff member for exhibiting Leader In Me Habits. They received a Leadership Coin that was used to get a book from our book machine. Thank you for being valuable members of your classrooms and great examples for your classmates! |

December's Habit is Habit 4: Think Win-Win “Everyone can win.”
Habit 4 teaches students to look for solutions that benefit everyone, not just themselves. Instead of thinking “I win, you lose,” children learn to see that teamwork, kindness, and compromise help all of us succeed.
At school, students practice Habit 4 when they share materials, work with partners, solve conflicts peacefully, and celebrate each other’s successes. They learn that showing respect and being fair builds strong relationships.
Families can support Habit 4 at home by:
Using win-win language: “How can we find a solution that works for both of us?"
Practicing sharing and turn-taking during games or family activities.
Modeling cooperation—let children see adults solve problems together respectfully.
Celebrating others: Encourage kids to cheer for siblings or friends when they succeed.
When children learn to “Think Win-Win,” they build empathy, confidence, and leadership skills that help them thrive in school, at home, and with friends.
