Time to Buy a 2026 NDLE Yearbook |
Flyers will be coming home in student folders with a QR code and details about purchasing yearbooks. All yearbook sales are online. Our yearbooks cost $42 with all fees included. Our yearbooks are made with the company Pictavo and managed through Cowen Photography. Our yearbooks will be distributed to students before the last day of school in May 2026.
Our school receives a portion of the proceeds for yearbook and any Cowen photography picture sales. Essentially yearbooks and picture sales are fundraisers for our school. In order to maximize the school's earnings, we will not be ordering any extra yearbooks to be sold at the end of the year. In other words, if you want a yearbook, order one through the website before March 31. If you need help with ordering or have any questions, please email tara.brawley@desotopsb.com. You can scan the QR code provided in this post or go to the online store with this link https://www.buytheyearbook.com/en/
Books can be personalized with the student's name for $10. Personalized covers are due February 1st. Business or personal ads may also be purchased on the website. Here are the total prices for business or personal ads. Quarter page ($26.25) Half page ($52.50) Whole page ($105)
Parents can design their own ad on the website or you can send the pictures and a message to tara.brawley@desotopsb.com and I will create an ad for you. All non-personalized orders and completed ads are due March 31, 2026. |

| Habit 4: Think Win-Win — Helping Everyone Succeed!
At school, we are learning about Habit 4: Think Win-Win. This means believing that everyone can win! It isn’t about being "nice" or "giving in"—it’s about finding a way for everyone to feel happy with a solution. Why is this important for your child?
When children "Think Win-Win," they learn how to play fairly, solve arguments peacefully, and build strong friendships. Instead of thinking "I have to win and you have to lose," they learn to think "We can both be happy." It helps them move from "me" to "we." 5 Great Books to Read Together Here are five stories that show characters learning how to "Think Win-Win":
1. The Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister The Lesson: Sharing doesn't mean you have less; it means everyone gets to be part of the fun. 2. Sammy and the Pecan Pie by Sean Covey
The Lesson: This story shows exactly how to find a solution that makes two friends happy at the same time. 3. The Doorbell Rang by Pat Hutchins The Lesson: When more friends show up, the characters keep finding ways to share so that nobody is left out.
4. Alexander and the Wind-Up Mouse by Leo Lionni The Lesson: A beautiful story about wishing the best for others, even when things are difficult for ourselves. 5. The Butter Battle Book by Dr. Seuss
The Lesson: A funny way to show what happens when people don't try to find a Win-Win, helping kids see why compromise is so important. Try This at Home!
Next time your child has a disagreement with a sibling or friend over a toy or a game, ask them: "How can we make this a Win-Win for both of you?" You’ll be surprised at the creative solutions they come up with! |
