North DeSoto High School Beta Club is collecting items to create Birthday Kits to donate to Providence House in Shreveport. They are collecting boxed cake mixes, frosting, balloons, birthday banners, sprinkles, birthday cards and candles. Donations can be dropped in our office.

Also, the DeSoto Parish Animal Shelter is recycling old prescription bottles and collecting change to help their shelter. They ask that students fill an old prescription bottle with change and turn it in to your teacher. The class who collects the most money will have a visit from one of the shelter animals.

Yearbook orders due March 21st.

Yearbooks are sold for $40 until March 21st. To buy a yearbook, you can scan the QR code on the flyer below or go to www.buytheyearbook.com and type in school number 1471727-2501.

For parents who have purchased ads, please email tara.brawley@destotopsb.com if you need help with creating your ad. ALL ADS NEED TO BE COMPLETED BY MARCH 21st!

Feedback from the Yearbook Survey: Thank you to the people who responded to my survey. Based on this information, we will offer to buy a yearbook with cash for $50. Order forms will go home in folders on Monday or Tuesday. The increased price is to cover the processing fee and tax.

For next year, we could reduce the price of yearbooks by reducing the number pages and will explore working with Cowen Studios to possibly offer a coupon code with the purchase of Fall pictures to help with price. Our yearbooks are always given out in May and to do that we do not include the last few months of the year. Other schools on our campus include the entire school year in their yearbook which results in students not getting their yearbook until the first part of the next school year. Both opinions were expressed in our feedback, wishing the whole school year was represented and also wanting the book by May. NDLE usually chooses to have books given out in May, so we must have everything turned in by the end of March to ensure books are printed and shipped in enough time. We can explore each of those options for next year. The last thing is, we will begin advertising books in the Fall to give everyone plenty of time to purchase. Thanks again for your help!--Mrs. Brawley
