| Habit 6: The Synergy Action Plan Moving from "Conflict" to "Collaboration"
Last week, we introduced Habit 6: Synergize®. This week, our Little Griffins are learning that synergy is a process! When we have a disagreement at NDLE, we don't just "compromise" (where everyone gives something up). Instead, we follow the Synergy Action Plan to find a solution that is better than what we started with. 🛠️ The 5 Steps to Synergy
You can use these same steps at home to turn a sibling argument or a family chore into a "Win-Win" victory: Define the Problem: What is the issue we are trying to solve? Their Way: Seek first to understand. Listen to the other person's ideas first. My Way: Seek to be understood. Share your ideas clearly and kindly. Brainstorm: Create new options together. (This is the fun part!) High Way: Find the best solution that works for everyone. 🏠 Home Connection: The "Synergy Snack-Off"
Looking for a quick way to practice this week? Try a Synergy Snack! * The Challenge: Give your child 3-4 random healthy ingredients (e.g., crackers, grapes, cheese, yogurt). The Goal: Instead of everyone eating their own separate snack, use the Action Plan to create one "Signature Family Snack" using all the ingredients.
The Lesson: Discuss how the combination (like a grape and cheese skewer) tastes different and better than just eating them one by one! "Synergy is better than my way or your way. It's our way." |
