Dear Parents,

Friday, May 16 is a Virtual Day for all North DeSoto Schools as the NDHS Baseball team competes in the State Championship. This will ensure that all DPSB employees, parents and siblings can travel to Sulphur to cheer on the Griffins without any absences counted against them. We are grateful for Superintendent Corley in providing this service to our ND community.

Because of the Virtual Day, we have moved the NDLE Awards Day to Monday, May 19th. The times will remain the same. We understand this will be an inconvenience for many of you and we sincerely apologize. Our administration team has taken the state championships into account and plan on keeping Fridays in May clear of events for next year so possible state championships will not affect our calendar in the future. Again we apologize for any inconvenience to our families. We are grateful for the support and flexibility that our Griffin community gives to us. And we hope our Griffin Baseball team wins state!!

If you are not getting notifications from the DeSoto Schools app, please make sure it is updated to Version 4.4.0 If an update does not fix the problem, delete the app and re-install it on your device. If those two things do not fix the problem, please email tara.brawley@desotopsb.com or call our office at (318) 925-2383 and tell our secretaries that you are having problems with ROOMs. This is the primary method of communication for ALL DeSoto Parish schools so let us help you make sure you are set up correctly for next year. This app is connected to the email and phone number you used when enrolling your child so if that has changed, then it will not work properly.

ALL REGISTRATION CAN BE DONE ONLINE beginning February 14, 2025 at desotoreadystart.com

PreK-4 students must be 4 by September 30, 2025 to register.

You will need the following things to upload when you register:

• Child’s birth certificate

• Child’s social security card

• Child’s immunization record

• Parent/Guardian’s current driver’s license (address must match bills)

• Parent/Guardian’s electric bill (service address correct)

• Parent/Guardian’s 2nd bill (water, gas, cable, satellite-same address) 

• Last 2 check stubs for all adults in the household (if no Medicaid/SNAP)

• Print and sign “Attendance Agreement” from desotoreadystart.com
