Students will perform in 2 groups of 5 classes to accommodate our 10 first grade classes and their families.

Performance A: Mrs. Anderson, Bickham, Burford, Enders and Fogleman’s classes

  • Perform for the school- Monday, December 9th at 9:00 am. Students wear uniforms.

  • Perform for family and friends - Monday, December 9th at 6:30 pm. Students wear Christmas pajamas as their costume

Performance B: Mrs. Chambers, Hasty, Register, Wheeler and Woods’ classes

  • Perform for the school- Tuesday, December 10th at 9:00 am. Students wear uniforms.

  • Perform for family and friends - Tuesday, December 10th at 6:30 pm. Students wear Christmas pajamas as their costume

Performances are in the North Desoto Lower Elementary Gym. Parents and guests are asked to sign in when entering the gym. Speaking part auditions were held in Music class the week of Nov. 11-15. All students were given the opportunity to audition or not. I mark a checklist of items I am looking for (follows direction, speaks with expression, confident in front of class, speaks loudly, speaks clearly) and choose students based on their performance in the audition. I will send home speaking parts before Thanksgiving break to give you time to work on it with them. We will begin rehearsals in the gym the week we get back from Thanksgiving break. If you have any questions, email tara.brawley@desotopsb.com  or send me a Rooms message.

Counselor's Corner...

pic

Our character trait that we are focusing on this month is gratitude. Our counselor, Mrs. Arinder, has put together mini-lessons for our teachers to share with students about what gratitude is, how we show gratitude, and recognizing what we are grateful for. Teachers and staff will be recommending students for character coins for students who show gratitude. Character coins allow students to get a book out of our Little Griffin book machine in the lobby.

As adults, we can set an example of how to show gratitude. Mrs. Arinder has been printing out the teacher and staff shoutouts and posting them around the school so students can see us as adults showing gratitude for each other. If you would like to show gratitude for one of our staff members or the school, please use the link below. https://forms.gle/9zPw9a2aXL7bN4qz7
