NDMS Families,
As we head into an important time of year, we want to remind our NDMS families that we have just 5 instructional days left before LEAP testing begins. These next few days matter, and we are focused on making each one count!
We ask for your partnership in ensuring that students are present, prepared, and ready to learn each day. Strong attendance, a good night’s rest, and coming to school with a positive mindset will help our students make the most of this final stretch of instruction.
While we know that testing is an important measure of academic progress, we want to be clear about something that matters even more: a test score does not define your child. At NDMS, our vision goes far beyond a single assessment. We are committed to developing strong leaders, lifelong learners, and students who serve others with integrity and purpose.
These last five days are an opportunity to build confidence, reinforce learning, and remind our students of just how capable they are. With your support, we know they will walk into testing feeling prepared and proud.
Let’s finish this final stretch strong together!
~Mrs. Rhoads

Middle Griffin parents: reminder that NEEDOHS are not allowed at NDMS.
|
Beginning next week, our Middle Griffins will be taking the LEAP. Here are a few things to help them do the best they can.
Preparation and Routine Before Each Day of Testing:
* Establish a Routine - Maintain normal routines and encourage students to get at least 8 hours of sleep
* Provide a high protein breakfast each morning and try to avoid very sugary food that will result in energy crashes
* Encourage students to study in short, consistent sessions instead of “cramming”
* Encourage students to lay out clothing, charger/chromebook and snacks the night before to reduce morning anxiety and stress
Each Day After Testing:
* Encourage students to wind down by going outside to get fresh air
* Possible activities students can do to release stress and tension are: riding a bike, taking a walk, or sitting outside
*Provide a nutritious after school snack and dinner

Shout out to April 6th's NDMS High Flyers! These students demonstrate hard work and follow school rules. They make good decisions, manage priorities, are kind to others, and exemplify what it means to be a true Griffin! Way to go, Griffins! April's Griffins have the quality of being resilient; they have the capacity to withstand or to recover quickly from difficulties. Representing 6th grade are Grayson and Cooper. 7th grade representatives are Jace and Hadley while 8th grade is being represented by Addie and Brysten. Congratulations to each of you! You are proof we are #winningtogether!
