Dear NDMS Families,
At NDMS, we believe that strong attendance is one of the most important factors in your child’s academic success. Every school day counts, and when students are present, they not only learn the material being taught but also build relationships, practice responsibility, and gain valuable skills for life.
Research shows that students who miss just 2 days a month (about 18 days a year) are much more likely to fall behind in reading, math, and overall achievement. Being in class consistently helps students stay on track, feel more confident, and be part of our school community.
Here are a few reminders to help support great attendance:
Set a routine. A regular bedtime and morning schedule makes it easier to get to school on time.
Plan ahead. Schedule appointments after school hours when possible.
Communicate with us. If your student must be absent, please call the office so we can record the absence properly and offer support if needed.
Most importantly, talk with your child about the value of showing up. Every day they attend, they are making progress toward their goals and building habits that will serve them well into the future.
Together, let’s encourage our students to Lead, Learn, and Serve by making school attendance a priority!
