Parents are encouraged to attend our final Parent Engagement Night of the Back to School Season. This time we will tackle all the non-academic parts of educating and supporting students. We have a special guest speaker, Clint Davis, who is an expert in the counseling field who will lead parents through tackling tough topics with our children. All ND campus families are invited to attend. Childcare for those in attendance will be provided.
NDUE will sell holiday shirts this year through the Hometown Spirit Shop. Proceeds from these fundraisers will support upcoming field trips and holiday events.
FCA ON WEDNESDAYS
Students may participate in weekly Fellowship of Christian Athletes meetings in the gym on Wednesdays from 7:20-7:35. Students are not allowed to join in late after 7:25. This club is available to all students and does not require a fee. All students not participating in the meeting report to breakfast or their grade-level hallways.
4H CLUB AND CLOVER BUDS
4H meets 1 day per month during enrichment. The first official meeting has been rescheduled to October 22nd during student's Enrichment class period. More information will come at their first official meeting. Follow DeSoto 4H on Facebook or contact them at 318-872-0533 for more information on the parish club activities.
The state requires any student who scores below Mastery in ELA or Math on LEAP or Below or Well Below on Dibels to receive intervention during the school day and for schools to document this through an IASP. NDUE provides the required intervention during WIN (what I need). Parents whose students are in an intervention WIN received notification by mail and will receive a progress update in January and May. Please sign and return the document. To best support our school Fluency for ALL goals, all NDUE students are placed in Math or ELA WIN classes for extension or intervention. If you have any questions or concerns with your child's intervention plan please reach out to Mrs. Asbell at 318-925-1610 or Ashley.asbell@desotopsb.com.
