Our district supports technology safety through the use of Gaggle, a safety platform designed to help keep students safe while using online tools and resources. It monitors student communications on Google platforms—like email, Docs, and Slides—for signs of harmful behavior; such as bullying, self-harm, or threats. When Gaggle detects something concerning, it alerts school administration, allowing us to intervene quickly and support students in need. The GoGuardian Parent App is a tool designed to help parents stay engaged with their child's online learning experience. It allows parents to monitor school-issued devices and the activities students engage in, even after school hours.
Features
View Activity: Check what websites and applications your child is using
Set Limits: Control screen time by setting schedules for when the device can be used after school, helping to balance learning and downtime.
Receive Alerts: Get notifications about concerning behavior, such as attempts to access inappropriate content or other red flags.
Download GoGuardian Parent in the App Store and enter the parent email used to register the child for school. You will receive a 6 digit PIN at that email address to complete registration. There are options in the app to view a summary of most visited websites, browse recent activity, block unwanted websites, and set time limits for the device: including the ability to pause internet access at night.
Thank you for attending our 4 part Back to School Family Engagement Series. We hope that you feel more informed and prepared to support your child's academic and social emotional growth at home. All slide presentations can be found on our school website for your reference. Please continue to support your students education by staying connected to Rooms, DOJO, and Jcampus, as well as, serving as their accountability partner by signing their portfolios every Monday and attending Student Parent Teacher Conferences each 9 weeks. We have many more opportunities this year for you to take part in all the FUN of our school community. Being present at school means so much to your child and to our team. We are BETTER TOGETHER!
The state requires any student who scores below Mastery in ELA or Math on LEAP or Below or Well Below on Dibels to receive intervention during the school day and for schools to document this through an IASP. NDUE provides the required intervention during WIN (what I need). Parents whose students are in an intervention WIN received notification by mail and will receive a progress update in January and May. Please sign and return the document. To best support our school Fluency for ALL goals, all NDUE students are placed in Math or ELA WIN classes for extension or intervention. If you have any questions or concerns with your child's intervention plan please reach out to Mrs. Asbell at 318-925-1610 or Ashley.asbell@desotopsb.com.
