Please avoid the center parking area if you can during morning arrival and before 3:05pm. Coming a little later to park for walk up will help let our teenage drivers get both on and off campus.
Walk-up in the morning is primarily intended for HS students, employees, families with students with disabilities, meetings, and bringing in other items such as cupcakes or projects to the office. Cars must be parked in a parking spot to utilize walkup and a supervising caregiver must walk the child all the way to the crosswalk. Do not park in the road. Walk-up in the afternoon is the same as well. A supervising caregiver must come to the crosswalk to escort their child to the car. All vehicles must be parked in a parking place.
In the afternoon, the inside lane is for 2nd and 3rd grade, the outside lane is for 4th, 5th, and family/carpool. In the morning, both lanes are open for all grades.
Public Drop off begins at 7:20 am and dismissal is at 3:13pm.
Our PTO is looking for volunteers to help in the concession stand and with other activities at the school. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the school and we will pass your information along to the PTO. Not all tasks require parents to be present during the school day. Please reach out to ptondue@gmail.com for more information.
Students must bring their chromebook to school EVERYDAY, fully charged and ready for school. There is a $50 replacement fee for damaged chromebooks and a $10 replacement fee for chargers.

All school notes, homework, and student portfolios will go home on Mondays. Please check your student's backpack each Monday and return any needed forms promptly. We use DOJO as part of our positive behavior system and will message parents through the rooms app as needed throughout the year. Also, please feel free to utilize email or call the school from 7:15-3:15 M-F. All staff members' email are firstname.lastname@desotopsb.com.
We need your help to reach our FLUENCY goals this school year. Weekly homework packets will be sent home on Mondays. This work will support fluency in students' core subject areas. Although there is no penalty for students who do not complete homework, we will be rewarding and tracking homework completion this year. We strongly recommend students spend no more than 20 minutes or 5 minutes per subject per night 3 nights per week on homework. Zearn, Myon, and math fluency practice are all supporting activities available to students and are great additional ways to support fluency.
School attendance affects student academics. Please make every effort to have your student at school every minute of every day. Students should turn in doctors' excuses and other notes to the office upon arrival at school. Notes must be submitted within 3 days of return to be excused.
Concessions will start Sept. 6th. There is a $10 limit on concessions. Most items are in the $1-2 range. We will send a menu out closer to the start date.
